SWISH ACT operates as an umbrella organization with multiple program streams.
Coastal Kings serves as the flagship program and proof of concept under SWISH ACT. It represents a competitive excellence pathway for young people who want to pursue basketball at a higher level, while also playing a critical role in developing youth leaders and mentors who support other SWISH ACT programs. The club stands as a visible and credible success story for partners and funders, demonstrating what is possible when sport and mentorship are intentionally combined.
Through Coastal Kings, young people have access to structured basketball training and consistent mentorship, and the team has successfully participated in regional coastal championships. Beyond competition, the program has shown strong discipline, participant retention, and positive youth development outcomes.
The Ball na Life Program serves as the main open-access youth mentorship program under SWISH ACT.
It is designed for boys and girls who may not be interested in competitive basketball but still benefit from structured sport and mentorship.
The program offers inclusive, non-competitive sport-for-fun sessions paired with life skills learning, with a strong emphasis on participation, retention, and broad accessibility.
This girls empowerment through sports program creates intentional, girls-only spaces where young women can engage in sport while building confidence, leadership, and life skills. Through structured sessions, girls are supported to challenge limiting gender norms, strengthen their voice, and see themselves as leaders on and off the court. The program actively engages parents and guardians to build understanding and support for girls’ participation, helping create safer and more enabling environments at home and in the community.
